Depth of Bedheads

The standard depth of our upholstered bedhead designs is 7.5cm.

The Albertine, Kensington and Soho are approximately 10cm deep due to the nature of the deep buttoning in these designs.

Width of Bedheads

Bedheads are made “oversized” to accommodate additional width of thick bedding and bedspreads.

Light fittings, power points and/or window trims may require special allowance with your design. We can easily make allowance with our standard measurements to ensure your design fits perfectly.
If you would like your design to be wider than the above measurements or to go right to the floor, simply contact us to tailor a quotation to your exact requirements.

Freestanding Support

The height of the upholstered component of a Heatherly Design bedhead is 120cm. The additional finished height is achieved in the freestanding leg supports which are fitted to the back of the bedhead. Our design ensures that when the bedhead is placed between the bed and the wall, it will rest securely against the wall on the L shaped designed steel leg. At the base of each leg are two rubber stops which secure the design to the floor and ensure it doesn’t slip on floorboards. This support is included in the price. In the situation where skirting boards are deeper than 2.5cm, we can design the leg to go around the skirting board. All we need is the height and depth of skirting board and we then shape the leg to fit accordingly.

Upon installation, the holes are pre drilled for where the screws fix the legs to the back of the bedhead so installation is very straight forward.  Simple instructions and screws are provided and and all you require is a phillips head screw driver. 

Wall mounted bedheads are available upon request. This option is ideal for bedheads that sit above the mattress or in hotels where beds are converted from king size to two single beds. A wall mount is fitted to the back of the bedhead with a connecting piece which is then mounted to the wall.

Alternatively bedheads can start from the floor and finish at any desired height or width.  As all designs are custom made, we can work with you in tailoring your design to suit your needs.  Just come through our talk to us page with special details of your design.

Recommended Finished Heights

Because of the adjustable nature of the L-Shaped leg, bedheads can be presented at a range of heights.

Heights are measured from ground level to the top of the bedhead.

We are happy to pre drill holes to your preferred finished height for easy installation on delivery.

All you require is a Phillips head screwdriver to screw the legs to the bedhead.

As the Bromley sits flat to the floor and no freestanding legs are required, the finished height for a King is 130cm, whilst the Queen is 125cm.  Variations to these finished heights are available, simply contact us for a quote.

Key differences between the Kensington Albertine and Soho Bedheads

Here in the design studio, we are often asked the difference with our deep buttoned designs, the Kensington, Albertine and Soho.  Below you will find images straight from the workshop, so sorry no added propping with beautiful bedlinen and accessories but trust our descriptions and these photos help those contemplating a deep buttoned option understand each design a little better.

	Kensington The Kensington design is the tradtional Chesterfield look with all over buttoning.  Visible above the mattress are 5 – 6 rows of buttoning with the fabric pleated into each button.
	Albertine The Albertine certainly has the same pleated detail as the Kensington but there are only 3 rows of buttoning which create a diamond pattern.  Above and below the buttoning the fabric has been channelled vertically offering a more defined line which creates a point of difference.
	Soho The Soho again only has the three rows of buttoning like the Albertine but is more stream lined with sewn seams into each button.  It is a little more understated with the subtle buttoning detail lending itself beautifully to both linen and velvet.

Delivery Services and Charges

When it comes to delivering and installing your design, we offer three levels of service to all states and territories.  When placing your order, simply indicate the service that you require.  

Services  

Standard: Ground floor delivery with no specified time. Pending approval, box/es will be left at front door if not home.  This scenario works extremely well for 95% of our orders into residential addresses. This service is not available to above ground floor deliveries.  

Premium: For an additional $55 on our Standard pricing below,  delivery can be arranged within a nominated 3 hour time period and/or be taken to an above ground floor location.  

Platinum: Delivered and installed at a specified time, with rubbish removed on completion. This service is currently available in Melbourne and Sydney metro locations only. Price is subject to design and location. Please contact us for a quote.  

Charges – Bedhead (including optional valance) based on a queen sized bedhead

Transit insurance is included with all deliveries.  

Lead Time

 Our production leadtime is approximately 4 weeks from receipt of your deposit.  If however you require your order sooner than this, please phone to discuss the possibility of an earlier delivery.
   

Ordering information

Upon confirmation of your design, a design specification is forwarded to you for approval.  Your order is confirmed with a 50% deposit.  Payment options include Mastercard, Visa and AMEX.  A 2% surcharge applies to all credit card transactions.
